MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State sophomore golfers Darby Deans and Reid Isaac were named to the 2018-19 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars Team, the organization announced on Monday.
Deans was honored for a second-straight year, while Isaac picked up the accolade for the first time. The distinctions give the Wildcats 12 All-American Scholar honors since 2012.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics as the minimum cumulative GPA to be considered for the award is 3.50.
Deans and Isaac, both majoring in business administration, were part of 1,097 golfers across all three NCAA divisions to be named to the team. The duo was also named First Team Academic All-Big 12 performers in 2019.
Isaac, a product of Montgomery, Texas, earned a 75.13 stroke average in 11 events this season. She tallied a pair of top-20 finishes, including a fifth-place showing at the Bruzzy Challenge when she carded a 4-under par 212. A native of Frisco, Texas, Deans averaged 79.94 strokes over 18 rounds, which included a tie for 18th at the UT Arlington Invitational.
