MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State women's basketball will send four players to the 2019 Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Regional in New York City at Queens College on September 14. The games this weekend will be streamed on Twitch.tv/NBA.
The top finishers at the regional will qualify for the 2020 Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals in April. The four teams at the 2020 Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals will represent the talent pool from which the four roster spots will be selected for the 2020 U.S. Olympic 3-on-3 Team for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
The four players to represent Kansas State are senior
Jasauen Beard, junior
Rachel Ranke, sophomore
Christianna Carr and redshirt freshman
Ayoka Lee.
Beard, a forward from Midwest City, Oklahoma, achieved career-highs in every statistical category during the 2018-19 season. Beard averaged 7.2 points and 3.3 rebounds while playing in all 33 games.
Ranke, a guard from Burnsville, Minnesota, is on the verge of becoming the 43rd player in program history with 1,000 or more career points. She ranks 10th in program history for career 3-point field goals made with 160 career connections. In the 2018-19 season, Ranke averaged 10.0 points and 3.3 rebounds.
In her first season with the Wildcats in 2018-19, Carr garnered 2019 Big 12 All-Freshman Team honors and averaged 9.8 points and 2.8 rebounds for the season. Against Michigan in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, Carr poured in 21 points and became the fourth freshman in program history to score 20 or more points in an NCAA Tournament game.
Lee will make her K-State debut in the 2019-20 season, as she spent the 2018-19 season recovering from an injury. In her high school career at Byron High School in Byron, Minnesota, Lee set the school records for career points and career rebounds with over 2,200 points and nearly 1,500 rebounds.
