Lee Continues Big 12 Freshman of the Week Streak

MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State freshman center Ayoka Lee improved her Big 12 Conference record with her 11th Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor, including her sixth straight and every Big 12 Freshman of the Week award in the entire month of February.
Lee earned her honor by setting a pair of new school records and helped the Wildcats to their third straight road win last week.
Lee averaged 20.0 points on a .731 field goal percentage, 13.5 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 0.5 steals. She tallied a pair of double-doubles to improve her current streak of double-doubles to five and tie the school record for consecutive double-doubles. She also established a new school record for rebounds in a freshman season with 282.
Against TCU, Lee registered her fastest double-double of the season by reaching the mark with 6:56 remaining in the second quarter. Lee would finish the game with 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting, 17 rebounds and six blocks. This was her school record seventh game with a double-double and five or more blocks.
At Texas, Lee led the Wildcats with 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting, pulled in 10 rebounds, blocked three shots and pocketed a steal in 39 minutes of action. With her three blocks, Lee improved her season total to 80 and became the first freshman and third overall to tally 80 or more blocks in a season.
For the season, Lee leads all Big 12 freshman in scoring (16.3 ppg), field goal percentage (.575), rebounds (11.3 rpg) and blocks (3.2 bpg). Lee has scored in double figures in 21 consecutive games.
