MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State student-athletes continue to receive recognition for their excellence in the classroom, as seven Wildcats received the 10th annual Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, which is the Big 12 Conference's highest academic honor, in an announcement by the league office on Wednesday.
The seven recipients from K-State are: Brynn Carlson, volleyball (redshirt junior, dietetics/kinesiology/nutrition and health/nutrition and kinesiology; master's in nutrition, dietetics and sensory sciences), Katie Cramer, soccer (senior, kinesiology), Aubrey Gilchrist, rowing (junior, microbiology), Laramie Hall, soccer (senior, psychology), Helene Ingvaldsen, track and field (senior, management/marketing), Brock Monty, football (junior, financial management) and Shaelyn Ward, track and field (junior, kinesiology/nutrition and kinesiology/gerontology).
In total, 89 student-athletes from Big 12 member institutions earned the honor in 2020.
