MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State outside hitter Brynn Carlson was one of 28 players selected to the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team-Anaheim roster, USA Volleyball announced Wednesday.
Carlson, who will enter her redshirt junior season in 2020, earns her second career selection to the squad after participating in last year's CNT-Anaheim training group. Carlson also competed with the U.S. Junior A1 National Team Training Program ahead of her freshman campaign in 2017.
The CNT-Anaheim group will train June 21-27 in Anaheim at the American Sports Centers, where they will compete side by side with the U.S. Women's National Team as it makes its final preparations for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The 6-foot-4 Woodbury, Minnesota, native produced her first 300-kill season in 2019, leading the Wildcats offense with 309 kills and 328 points. She set career highs in kills per set (2.83), sets played (109), hitting percentage (.203) and digs (67).
Following the 2019 season, Carlson was named to CoSIDA's Academic All-America Third Team, becoming the first Wildcat to be named an academic all-American since 2010 and just the sixth in program history.
She has been a first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection each of the last two seasons while also claiming Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors in 2017-18.
Carlson was one of eight outside hitters added to the CNT-Anaheim roster.
