Jan 10, 2022 | Women's Basketball

MANHATTAN, Kansas – For the first time since the conclusion of the 2016-17 season, K-State women's basketball finds itself among the Associated Press women's basketball top-25 poll as the Wildcats are ranked 25th this week.

K-State (13-2, 3-0 Big 12) is off to its best start after 15 games since the 2008-09 season and its first 3-0 start to league play since the 2011-12 season.

The Wildcats have been led by junior center and 2022 All-America candidate Ayoka Lee and a trio of freshmen. Lee leads the Big 12 in scoring (349 pts; 23.3 ppg), field goal percentage (.564) and blocks (55; 3.67). Lee leads the nation in total points and field goals made (143) and is second in blocked shots and double-doubles.

The freshmen trio of Serena Sundell, Brylee Glenn and Jaelyn Glenn have aided in the attack. Sundell, a contender for Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors, is second on the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game and leads the Wildcats with 5.5 assists per game. She has five games with 10 or more points and five or more assists.

Brylee Glenn is third on the team in scoring with 8.6 per game and carded a career-high 19 points at Oklahoma State last Wednesday.

Jaelyn Glenn is fourth on the team in scoring with 7.4 points, third on the team in rebounding with 4.0 per game and leads the team in 3-point field goal percentage (.393). In her last game, Glenn tallied a career-high 20 points and buried a career-best six 3-pointers at West Virginia.

K-State will return to Bramlage Coliseum on Tuesday night, as the Wildcats host (12/12) Iowa State at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for Tuesday's game can be purchased at kstatesports.com/tickets, calling (800) 221-CATS or in person at the K-State Athletics Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum.
