MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State women's golf head coach Kristi Knight announced on Tuesday that Alenka Navarro signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Wildcats.
"Coach (Jared) Helin and I are excited to add Alenka to the Wildcat family," said Knight. "She is a tremendous young lady. Alenka's game is solid in every aspect. She is diligent in her practice habits and a true competitor on the course."
Hailing from Mexico City, Navarro finished last season ranked fifth nationally in Mexico.
She has shown her talents at several marquee events, including a fourth-place finish in the 2022 PGA Optimist International at the Trump National Doral Golf Club and a third-place finish in the National Olympics at the Tiajuna Country Club.
Navarro will join a talented young core in 2023-24 that includes current sophomore Remington Isaac along with freshmen Kate Tilma and Noa Van Beek, setting up a bright future for the program. The 2023-24 squad will also include current juniors Gabriela McNelly and Napua Glossner.
Kansas State is in the midst of a brief offseason before the spring season commences February 6-7 at the FAU Paradise Invitational, which is the first of a six tournament spring slate before postseason play begins.
