Weather Halts K-State’s First Round of Big 12 Championship

TRINITY, Texas – Due to inclement weather, the 2022 Big 12 Championship, which had two rounds scheduled for Monday, is suspended.
Play will resume Tuesday morning at 8 a.m., but the event has been shortened to 54 holes instead of the original 72 holes that were scheduled.
The first round was just underway before the rain took over with the first teams to tee off just starting to make the turn to the back nine. K-State was only able to complete three to six holes. The Wildcats are currently at 1-under par and in a tie for fourth place with No. 1 Oklahoma.
Though it's still early, there are several Wildcats who are off to positive starts, led by Nicklaus Mason and Will Hopkins, who are in a tie for third place at 1-under par. Mason has finished six holes, while Hopkins is through hole No. 4.
Also finishing four holes and in a tie for 18th place at even-par is Laurenz Schiergen, while Luke O'Neill is 1-over par and tied for 27th place after five holes. Tim Tillmanns has completed just three holes and is tied for 41st place at 2-over par.
After round one is completed Tuesday morning, round two will immediately follow at 11 a.m. The 2022 Big 12 Championship will then conclude on Wednesday with the third, and now final, round starting at 8 a.m. Stay tuned to Golfstat.com for live scoring when play resumes on Tuesday.
