Isaac, Donche-Gay Named All-American Scholars
Jul 06, 2022 | Women's Golf
MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State women's golfers Manon Donche-Gay and Remington Isaac were named to the 2021-22 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, the organization has announced.
The Wildcats have totaled 18 All-American Scholar accolades since 2012. The criteria for selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics as the minimum cumulative GPA to be considered for the award is 3.50.
With the honors by Donche-Gay and Isaac - both newcomers in 2021-22 - K-State had seven of its eight players on last year's roster earn an academic honor during the season. Five Wildcats were named to the Academic All-Big 12 list, a recognition that is not open to players in their first year of academic residence.
A transfer from Daytona State Community College, Donche-Gay competed in all nine events and led the squad with a 75.04 stroke average her first season with K-State. She claimed a pair of top-20 finishes with her top mark of the year being a tie for fifth at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational.
Isaac, a freshman during the 2021-22 campaign, recorded a 75.59 stroke average in nine events. She also saw her best finish come in the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational when she tied for third place at 4-over par 220.
Donche-Gay and Isaac join three other Wildcats - Napua Glossner, Gabriela McNelly and Haley Vargas - who return for the 2022-23 season. They will be joined by Kate Tilma, a Wichita native who prepped at Kapaun Mt. Carmel, and Noa Van Beek, who comes to Manhattan from the Netherlands.
