MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State women's basketball head coach Jeff Mittie announced the signing of one player to a National Letter of Intent (NLI) during the Fall National Signing period on Wednesday.
The new addition to the K-State roster for the 2024-25 season is forward Finley Ohnstad (Elko New Market, Minnesota).
Ohnstad, who preps at Lakeville South High School, is a three-time All-South Suburban Conference selection and earned All-Metro honors in 2022-23 as she averaged 18 points per game.
In addition to her all-league honors, Ohnstad was a finalist for the St. Paul Pioneer Press East Metro Girls Basketball Player of the Year honor in 2023 and prior to the start of the 2022-23 season was a player to watch by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Ohnstad comes from a basketball family, as both her parents played basketball at Minnesota.
"Finley has good size for a versatile player," said Mittie about the latest signee from the state of Minnesota. "She has good shooting ability that can play anywhere from a big guard to a small forward."
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., as K-State visits Little Rock. Saturday's game can be seen live on ESPN+.
