O’Neill Improves During Second Round of NCAA Championship

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Kansas State junior men's golfer Luke O'Neill improved 20 spots on the leaderboard during the second round of the 2023 NCAA Championship on Saturday at the par-70, 7,289-yard Grayhawk Golf Club.
O'Neill came away with a 2-over par 72 on Saturday and enters Sunday's third round in a tie for 84th place at 7-over par 147.
Starting on No. 10, O'Neill began with consecutive birdies before a bogey on No. 13. He came back with another birdie on No. 15 and pared the rest of the back nine. However, the Connemara, Ireland, bogeyed two of the first three holes of the front side before a birdie on No. 4. From there, O'Neill bogeyed No. 6 and double-bogeyed No. 7 for his final tally of 2-over par.
O'Neill will begin his third round of the 2023 NCAA Championship on Sunday with an 8:22 a.m. (PT) tee time off hole No. 10. After Sunday's third round, the field will be cut to 15 teams and the top nine individuals not on an advancing team for the final round of stroke play on Monday where an individual national champion will be crowned.
