Wildcats Set to Compete Against Denver, Iowa This Weekend

K-State will face Denver at 12 p.m. CT on Friday
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team will hit the road for the first back-to-back competition this weekend on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 2-3) in Denver, Colo.
The Wildcats (3-0) will start the weekend with the hosting Denver Pioneers (2-2) on Friday at 12 p.m. CT.
On Saturday the 'Cats will face the Iowa Hawkeyes (1-3) at 11 a.m. CT.
K-State is 1-2 against Denver, losing last season 4-2 in Iowa City in a neutral site match. Senior Manami Ukita is the only returning player who was victorious in her singles match against Claudia Martinez de Velasco.
The 'Cats are 2-3 versus Iowa, both of those wins while competing in Manhattan. Last year the team lost 4-1 in Iowa, as sophomore Vanesa Suarez and Ukita both competed in unfinished matches.
Last weekend the Wildcats went 2-0 against Wichita State and South Dakota to start the season undefeated, featuring two doubles wins from new duo Ukita and freshman Maralgoo Chogsomjav. The team defeated the Shockers 5-2, victorious in 3 three-set matches. K-State left the Coyotes scoreless in a 7-0 win.
Freshman Charlotte Keitel won her fourth three-set match of the year against WSU's Anne Knuettel in 7-6 (7-1), 6-7 (2-7), 6-4. Freshman Tereza Polakova was the only one to sweep her opponent, Jessica Anzo, in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2.
Against USD, Chogsomjav won her first singles match in a 8 game pro set victory against Grace Chadick 8-3. Polakova, Suarez and sophomore Maria Santos all continued their singles win streak to three.
Both matches will be live streamed.
