K-State Tied for 11th After Two Rounds in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Following a round of 2-under par 282 on Monday morning, the Kansas State men's golf team was unable to carry that momentum into the afternoon as the Wildcats are tied for 11th after the first 36 holes of the Tiger Intercollegiate held at the par-71, 7,201-yard Club at Old Hawthorne.
The Wildcats, who went 10-over par 294 in the second round and are tied with Rutgers, are two shots back of Wyoming for 10th place and four shots behind ninth-place Minnesota.
K-State was led on Monday by sophomore Alex Lindstrom, who enters Tuesday's final round tied for 27th place at even-par 142. A transfer from Hutchinson Community College, Lindstrom went 1-under par 70 in the morning and 1-over par 72 in the afternoon.
Another under-par first round score was turned in by junior Nicklaus Mason at 3-under par 68, which put him in a tie for seventh place through 18 holes. However, the Shawnee, Kansas, native went 5-over par 76 in the afternoon and is tied for 39th place at 2-over par 144. Mason is tied with fellow junior Cooper Schultz, who carded a 1-over par 72 in each round.
Rounding out the scoring lineup for the Wildcats is junior JP Roller and senior Luke O'Neill, who are tied for 66th place and 87th place, respectively. Roller is at 6-over par 148, while O'Neill is four shots back.
Competing as an individual, junior Ian McCrary is tied for 95th place at 11-over par 153.
Central Arkansas holds the 36-hole lead at 15-under par 553, five shots ahead of second-place San Francisco and six shots ahead of host-school Missouri. The Tigers' Jack Lundin and Stetson's Dominic Clemons are tied atop the individual leaderboard at 8-under par 134.
