K-State with Work to Do in Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. – The Kansas State women's golf team put together a first-round score of 12-over par 292 on Saturday as the Wildcats are in 13th place at the Schooner Fall Classic held at the par-70, 6,188-yard Belmar Golf Club.
K-State enters Sunday's second round one shot behind a tie for 11th place between Oral Roberts and Virginia Tech, while the Wildcats are one shot ahead of a tie for 14th place between Oklahoma State and Texas State.
K-State was led on Saturday by senior Sophie Bert, who is tied for 28th place with a round of 1-over par 71. The transfer from East Tennessee State was one shot ahead of freshman Nanami Nakashima, who is tied for 37th place, while another senior, Carla Bernat, is tied for 50th place at 3-over par 73. Both Nakashima and Bernat led the squad with three birdies on the day.
Junior Noa van Beek and sophomore Alenka Navarro are tied for 73rd place following a first-round total of 6-over par 76.
Sixth-ranked Auburn leads the field at 7-under par 273, three shots ahead of second-place Houston. The Tigers also have the top individual in Anna Davis, who holds a one-shot lead at 6-under par 64.
