Jun 04, 2025 | Women's Golf
MANHATTAN, Kan. – For the second time in as many weeks, Kansas State senior women's golfer Carla Bernat earned First Team All-American honors as she picked up the accolade from Golfweek, the organization announced Wednesday.
Â
Bernat was named a First Team All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) last week. This is the second-straight season she has been honored by both organizations as she was a 2024 Second Team All-American by the WGCA and earned third-team honors from Golfweek.
Â
A native of Castellon, Spain, Bernat was one of only two Big 12 golfers on the first, second or third teams as she was joined by third-team member Patience Rhodes of Arizona State. Four others earned honorable mention status in Lauren Clark (Kansas), Beth Coulter (Arizona State), Grace Kilcrease (Oklahoma State) and Paula Schulz-Hanssen (Arizona State).
Â
Bernat's honors this season comes off a record-setting campaign as she set the program mark with a 70.08 scoring average. She finished in the top five in eight of her 13 events and did not finish outside of the top 20 due to the fact that she finished at even or under par in every event this season.
Â
Bernat picked up three wins on the year, opening the season with a victory at the Powercat Invitational in September before a win at the MountainView Collegiate in March. She then became the first Wildcat to win an individual title at an NCAA Regional thanks to a school-record tying 54-hole score of 12-under par 204 in the NCAA Lexington Regional. Her three wins in 2024-25 tied the single-season school record.
Â
The 2024-25 Big 12 Women's Golfer of the Year, Bernat also set the school's career records for scoring average (70.44), while she finished second in wins (5), top-five (14) and top-10 (16) finishes.
Â
Bernat, who captured the 2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur in March, will compete in the Palmer Cup, Thursday through Saturday, at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
