K-State Named ITA All-Academic Team, All Eight Wildcats Scholar Athletes

This is the seventh consecutive season the team has earned the honor
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team was named an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Monday (July 21) with all eight Wildcats on the 2024-25 roster also being named Scholar Athletes.

For the seventh consecutive year K-State has earned the team honor, an accomplishment due to a team combined grade point average of 3.76 on a 4.00 scale.

All eight women from last season, Maralgoo Chogsomjav, Sana Garakani, Charlotte Keitel, Veronika Kulhava, Zali Morris, Tereza Polakova, Zhanel Rustemova and Maria Santos, also earned individual ITA Scholar Athlete accolades.

"Always grateful to coach a team that has the ability to achieve success on the court and in the classroom," head coach Jordan Smith said. "All the credit goes to the dedication on our student-athletes. Along with the support of their various academic advisors on campus and [academic counselor] Caitlyn Claussen!"

This was the third consecutive honor for Santos while Keitel, Kulhava and Polakova also earned the honor last season.

The Big 12 Conference had 13 more women's tennis programs named All-Academic Teams with a combined 92 Scholar Athletes. Arizona had 11 women receive the accolade for the most in the conference while K-State, Central Florida and West Virginia tied for the second-most with 8 women.

On May 13 Keitel, Kulhava, Polakova and Santos earned another academic honor as they were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.

Requirements for a team to earn ITA All-Academic accolades include a team GPA of 3.20 or higher while a Scholar Athlete must have a GPA of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 scale.
