Tennis Back at Home for Ranked Matches Against Baylor, TCU

The #62 Wildcats will face #36 Bears and #25 Horned Frogs
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team is back at home this weekend with two ranked match ups at Mike Goss Tennis Stadium, starting on Friday (March 20) against Baylor.
#62 K-State (5-6, 2-3 Big 12) will face the #36 Bears (9-4, 5-1 Big 12) at 4 p.m. The Cats are 0-5 in the last five regular season meetings against Baylor.
On Sunday, the Wildcats will take on #25 TCU (11-2, 5-1 Big 12) at 12 p.m. In the last five matches between the two teams, K-State is 2-3, both wins from the post season. In last year's meeting on March 30, Maralgoo Chogsomjav won the lone singles point in a 4-1 loss, defeating Isabel Pascual in the no. 3 spot, 6-4, 6-4.
The Horned Frogs will be K-State's second-highest ranked opponent this season after previously facing then-ranked #21 Clemson on January 31.
In the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings from March 17, the Chogsomjav sisters, Maralgoo and Martaa, are still the Cats only ranked pair, now at #54.
The Bears and Frogs also have two athletes ranked in singles: for Baylor, Na Dong (37) and Zuzanna Kubacha (117), for TCU, Raquel Caballero Chica (75) and Cristina Ramos Sierra (125).
In the Wildcats' last match on March 14 against then-ranked #27 Oklahoma State, the team fell short 4-1. The Cowgirls forfeit one match in both doubles and singles play, freshman Addison Renfro claiming the lone point for the no. 6 singles court.
