
Alexander Adds to Coaching Staff

The first-year coach announces the hiring of four more staffers.
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Head coach Casey Alexander announced the additions of Wes Long, Bryce Haase, Lee Scott and Isaiah Walker to his coaching staff on Tuesday morning (April 14).
Long will serve as Chief of Staff, Haase as the Director of Analytics, Scott as strength and conditioning coach and Walker as Director of Player Development. The quartet joins recently hired assistant coaches John Cooper, Phil Cunningham, JJ Butler, Kerron (kuh-RON) Johnson and Luke Smith and General Manager Sean Rutigliano (roo-till-ee-AH-know) on the coaching staff.
In addition, Bailey Bachamp will continue in her role as the Director of Men's Basketball Operations. She is set to enter her 15th year working with the men's basketball, including her fifth as the Director of Operations. Her tenure at K-State spans head coaches Bruce Weber, Jerome Tang and now Alexander.
Long, who has head coaching experience at Division II Queens University in Charlotte from 2008-13, arrives at K-State after serving on staff at Middle Tennessee State for the past eight seasons (2018-26), including the last four (2022-26) as associate head coach, under head coach Nick McDevitt. He has 22 years of coaching experience, including stints at Queens (2004-13), Chattanooga (2013-15), VCU (2015-17), UNC Asheville (2017-18) and MTSU.
Haase and Scott were both on Alexander's staff at Belmont the past three seasons (2023-26) with Haase first serving as a graduate assistant (2023-25) before being promoted to director of strategy and analytics in 2025-26. Scott was the Bruins' director of performance since 2023 after nine seasons (2014-23) at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, including the last seven (2016-23) as assistant athletic director for sports performance.
Walker played three seasons (2022-25) for Alexander at Belmont before recently finishing his playing career at Xavier in 2025-26. He played in 32 games for the Musketeers with one start, averaging 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game.

Wes Long

Long is in his first season as chief of staff at K-State in 2026-27 after being hired by Alexander on April 14.
"The opportunity to work with Coach Alexander, at a place as special as Kansas State, is both exciting and humbling at the same time." said Long. "I've held the utmost respect for Casey as a basketball coach for a long time. As I got to know him better over the years, his character as a man and leader made me admire him even more. The chance to come alongside him and do it at tradition-rich K-State is such a blessing. My wife and I, along with our children, cannot wait to make Manhattan home and to help him build a program that will make all Wildcats fans proud."
A former Division II head coach at Queens University in Charlotte from 2008-13, Long has 22 years of coaching experience, including stints at Queens (2004-13), Chattanooga (2013-15), VCU (2015-17), UNC Asheville (2017-18) and Middle Tennessee State (2018-26).
Long joins the staff after eight seasons (2018-26) at Middle Tennessee State, including the four (2022-26) as associate head coach under head coach Nick McDevitt. He was part of 122 wins with the Blue Raiders, including 69 in Conference USA, with a pair of postseason appearances.
After enduring three consecutive losing seasons from 2018-21, including just 5 wins in 2020-21, the Blue Raiders rebounded to win nearly 58 percent (98-71) of their games in the last five seasons, including a pair of 20-win seasons. The 2021-22 squad made a 21-game improvement from that 5-win campaign to win 26 games and advanced to the finals of the CBI. The team won 22 games in 2024-25, including 12 in CUSA play, and lost in the first round of the NIT.
During his time in Murfreesboro, Long coached two C-USA Newcomers of the Year (Antonio Green and Essam Mostafa), 15 all-conference selections (including First Teamer Mostafa), four all-freshmen team picks and one member of the all-defensive team.
As the team's defensive coordinator, Long helped the Blue Raiders to a number of high-water marks setting school records for steals (295) in 2021-22 and blocks average (4.8) and total blocks (159) in 2022-23. The squad also set the record for most blocks in a single game with 13 against Belmont on Dec. 10, 2022. As recently as 2024-25, he helped MTSU rank 19th in 3-point field goal percentage defense, 30th in rebounds per game and 42nd in defensive rebounds per game.
This past season, MTSU posted a 17-15 overall record, including an 11-9 mark in CUSA play, and had a pair of all-conference selections, including Third Team pick Torey Alston. The team held teams to 55 points or less on three occasions, most notably in a home game against Louisiana Tech on Jan. 2 when the Bulldogs scored just 51 points, which were fewest surrendered to a CUSA opponent since 2021-22.
Long followed McDevitt to MTSU after one season (2017-18) as an assistant coach at UNC Asheville, where the pair led the school to 21 wins, the Big South regular season Championship and an automatic bid to the NIT, where the Bulldogs lost to top-seed USC in double overtime. Big man Ahman Thomas was the Big South Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year, while Thomas was joined on the All-Big South First Team by MaCio Teague.
Long spent four seasons on head coach Will Wade's staff at both Chattanooga (2013-15) and VCU (2015-17), where he was part of 91 wins and three postseason appearances (two NCAA Tournaments (2016, 2017) and one CollegeInsider.com Tournament (2014).
VCU advanced to the NCAA Tournament each of Long's two seasons on staff, including a trip to the Round of 32 after a win over Oregon State in 2016, while compiling a 51-20 record. The Rams went an impressive 28-8 in Atlantic 10 play, tying for 2016 regular season title and appearing in two A10 Tournament Championship games.
Long was the position coach for Rams point guard JeQuan Lewis, who earned First Team All-A10 honors as a senior in 2017, while also coaching big man Mo Alie-Cox, who finished his career as the school's all-time leader in field goal percentage. Alie-Cox is currently in his ninth season as a tight end for the Indianapolis Colts.
Long was part of 40 wins in two seasons (2013-15) with Chattanooga, including back-to-back runner-up finishes in the SoCon, with a trip to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in 2014. He was instrumental in building a Mocs team that won a school-record 29 games and captured both the SoCon regular season and tournament titles in 2015-16.
Before becoming a Division I assistant in 2013, Long spent nine seasons (2004-13) at then Division II Queen University, where he rose from a graduate assistant (2004-06) to assistant coach (2006-08) before serving as head coach for his last five seasons (2008-13). He was part of 151 wins with the Royals, including 108 in Conference Carolinas play, with 3 trips to the Division II playoffs.
Long went 75-66 (.532) in his five seasons as head coach, building the Royals from a 7-win season in 2008-09 to consecutive conference regular season titles in 2011 and 2012. His 2010-11 squad won 21 games, including a 16-2 mark in Conference Carolinas play, and advanced to the second round of the Division II Southeast Region. He was named to league Coach of the Year.
Long was promoted to a full-time assistant and recruiting coordinator at Queens in 2006 and subsequently helped head coach Brian Good lead the Royals to back-to-back 20-win seasons and two NCAA Division II Tournament berths. He was promoted to head coach in June 2008.
A native of Mauldin, S.C., Long played as an undergraduate at Clemson, joining the Tigers in 2000-01 as a walk-on for head coach Larry Shyatt before moving into a role as a student assistant under Shyatt and Oliver Purnell.
Long earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Clemson in 2004 before adding a master's in business administration from Queens in 2007.
Long and his wife, Martha, are the parents of two daughters, Abigail and Emma, and three sons, Canaan, Elijah and Boaz.
Bryce Haase

Haase is in his first season as the Director of Analytics at K-State in 2026-27 after being hired by Alexander on April 14.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity that Coach Alexander has given me to follow him to K-State," said Haase. "I'm probably one of the biggest college basketball fans you'll ever meet. To jump from the Missouri Valley, which is a really, really good mid-major conference, to the Big 12, it's always kind of what I wanted and where I wanted to work. To get the chance to do it at my age is incredible."
In his role, Haase focuses on data analytics, advanced stats, video breakdown through Synergy Sports, player development, game preparation and a variety of coaching staff needs.
Haase spent three seasons (2023-26) on Alexander's Belmont staff, the first two seasons as a graduate assistant (2023-25) before being elevated to director of strategy and analytics in 2025-26. He was part of 68 wins, including 41 in conference play, as the Bruins transitioned from the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) to Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) while extending their streak of 20-win seasons to 16.
This past season, Haase helped Belmont win 26 games and capture their first-ever Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship.
Haase also played a part in the development of a Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year (Tyler Lundblade), eight all-conference selections (three first team picks), three all-newcomer team honorees, three all-freshman team members and two all-defensive team selections.
Haase served as a scouting and analytics manager at UMass for head coaches Matt McCall and Frank Martin as he completed his undergraduate studies. In addition to his work with the men's basketball team, he served as a teaching assistant in the Isenberg School of Management.
The Vienna, Va., native earned his dual bachelor's degree in sports management and operations and information management from UMass in 2023 before adding a master's degree in sport administration from Belmont in May 2025.

Strength and Conditioning Coach

Scott is in his first season as the strength and conditioning coach at K-State in 2026-27 after being hired by Alexander on April 14.

Scott spent the last three seasons (2023-26) on Alexander's staff at Belmont as director of sports performance. He was part of 68 wins, including 41 in conference play, as the Bruins transitioned from the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) to Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) while extending their streak of 20-win seasons to 16.
This past season, Scott helped Belmont win 26 games and capture their first-ever Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship.
Scott played a part in the development of a Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year (Tyler Lundblade), eight all-conference selections (three first team picks), three all-newcomer team honorees, three all-freshman team members and two all-defensive team selections.
Scott came to Belmont in 2023 after nine years (2015-23) at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, including the last seven (2017-23) leading the Islanders' strength and conditioning program as an assistant athletic director for sports performance.
Scott was part of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's back-to-back Southland Conference championships (2022, 2023) in men's basketball under current Oklahoma State head coach Steve Lutz which included consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament and a victory in the 2023 First Four over SE Missouri State.
The Islanders also claimed the 2023 Southland Conference All-Sports trophy for women's sports with championships in basketball, tennis and beach volleyball.
Prior to joining the staff at TAMUCC, Scott served as the head strength and conditioning coach at Division II Texas A&M-Kingsville, where he oversaw strength and conditioning for all 12 athletic teams. He designed and implemented programs for every team at TAMUK, and helped the Javelinas collect conference championships in basketball and men's track in 2014. In addition, the TAMUK men's track team finished fourth in the nation.
Previously, Scott worked at Houston's Downtown Club at the Met as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer. In addition, he designed a plyometric and strength program for the John Lucas Camp in Houston. He also spent a year working at the YMCA in Victoria, Texas, for a year in the same position he held at the Downtown Club.
Scott began his athletics career at his alma mater Midwestern State. As a graduate assistant, he crafted and carried out offseason conditioning programs for the MSU women's basketball team. He also designed and implemented the walk-on/redshirt football program for the Mustangs and assisted in the strength and conditioning for football, men's basketball and softball.
Scott was a placekicker at Northwestern State (2005-07) and Midwestern State (2008-09), where he was part of a conference championship team in 2009.
Scott was one of four kickers chosen to participate in the national combine at Lucas Oil Stadium. He also played semiprofessionally in the Arena Football League for the Houston Stallions and Corpus Christi Fury.
A native of Elgin, Texas, Scott earned his bachelor's degree in sports and fitness management from Midwestern State in 2009 before earning a master's degree in exercise physiology from the school in 2011.
Scott and his wife, Julie, are the parents of two daughters – Hattie and Sadie.
Isaiah Walker
Director of Player Development
Belmont '25
Walker is in his first season as the Director of Player Development at K-State in 2026-27 after being hired by Alexander on April 14.
Walker played four seasons (2021-25) for Alexander at Belmont before finishing his playing career at Xavier in 2025-26. He played in 32 games for the Musketeers with one start, averaging 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game. His father, Tyrice, was a hoops standout for Xavier from 1990-94 before playing professionally in Poland and Israel.
Walker was part of 63 wins, including 39 in conference play, at Belmont from 2022-25 after redshirting as a true freshman in 2021-22. He played in 97 games with 57 starts, averaging 6.3 points on 44.3 percent shooting with 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.6 minutes per game.
Walker's best season at Belmont came in 2024-25 when he was selected to MVC Most Improved Team after averaging 10.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He scored in double figures 22 of 33 games played while leading the Bruins to a 22-11 record.
Walker was standout student-athlete in the classroom, earning recognition to the CSC (College Sports Communicators) Academic All-District Team four times while being a three-time member of the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team. He was also named the 2023-24 DI-AAA Scholar Athlete of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and member of both the NABC Honors Court and MVC Honor Roll.
A native of Wyoming, Ohio, Walker scored 1,641 points in his prep career at Wyoming High School, where he was twice named District Player of the Year as well as the 2021 Cincinnati Enquirer Player of the Year and 2021 SW Ohio Basketball Player of the Year for head coach Matt Rooks.
Walker earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Belmont in 2025.

In addition, he designed a plyometric and strength program for the John Lucas Camp in Houston. He also spent a year working at the YMCA in Victoria, Texas, for a year in the same position he held at the Downtown Club.
Scott began his athletics career at his alma mater Midwestern State. As a graduate assistant, he crafted and carried out offseason conditioning programs for the MSU women's basketball team. He also designed and implemented the walk-on/redshirt football program for the Mustangs and assisted in the strength and conditioning for football, men's basketball and softball.
Scott was a placekicker at Northwestern State (2005-07) and Midwestern State (2008-09), where he was part of a conference championship team in 2009.
Scott was one of four kickers chosen to participate in the national combine at Lucas Oil Stadium. He also played semiprofessionally in the Arena Football League for the Houston Stallions and Corpus Christi Fury.
A native of Elgin, Texas, Scott earned his bachelor's degree in sports and fitness management from Midwestern State in 2009 before earning a master's degree in exercise physiology from the school in 2011.
Scott and his wife, Julie, are the parents of two daughters – Hattie and Sadie.
Isaiah Walker
Director of Player Development
Belmont '25
Walker is in his first season as the Director of Player Development at K-State in 2026-27 after being hired by Alexander on April 14.
Walker played four seasons (2021-25) for Alexander at Belmont before finishing his playing career at Xavier in 2025-26. He played in 32 games for the Musketeers with one start, averaging 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game. His father, Tyrice, was a hoops standout for Xavier from 1990-94 before playing professionally in Poland and Israel.
Walker was part of 63 wins, including 39 in conference play, at Belmont from 2022-25 after redshirting as a true freshman in 2021-22. He played in 97 games with 57 starts, averaging 6.3 points on 44.3 percent shooting with 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.6 minutes per game.
Walker's best season at Belmont came in 2024-25 when he was selected to MVC Most Improved Team after averaging 10.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He scored in double figures 22 of 33 games played while leading the Bruins to a 22-11 record.
Walker was standout student-athlete in the classroom, earning recognition to the CSC (College Sports Communicators) Academic All-District Team four times while being a three-time member of the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team. He was also named the 2023-24 DI-AAA Scholar Athlete of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and member of both the NABC Honors Court and MVC Honor Roll.
A native of Wyoming, Ohio, Walker scored 1,641 points in his prep career at Wyoming High School, where he was twice named District Player of the Year as well as the 2021 Cincinnati Enquirer Player of the Year and 2021 SW Ohio Basketball Player of the Year for head coach Matt Rooks.
Walker earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Belmont in 2025.
