Cats Set for Midweek Doubleheader Against Chicago State

K-State will play two matches against CSU before wrapping up the Big 12 slate
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team is back in Manhattan for a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday (April 8) against Chicago State at Mike Goss Tennis Stadium with the first match scheduled for 10 a.m.
K-State (5-12, 2-9 Big 12) will face Chicago State (1-20, 1-4 NEC) for the first time in program history, the second match in the doubleheader is set for 2 p.m.
In the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings from Tuesday, junior Maralgoo Chogsomjav and freshman Martaa Chogsomjav, the Cats' sister duo, are #89 in the doubles poll.
The Wildcats returned from the last two Big 12 road matches over the weekend, facing #19 UCF on Friday (April 3) and #41 Houston on Sunday (April 5), both matches were a 4-1 deficit for K-State.
Maralgoo claimed her first singles victory in two weeks, defeating the Cougars' Elizaveta Morozova on the no. 1 court in straight sets at 6-3, 6-2. Freshman Diana Smolinska defeated the Golden Knights' Vladislava Andreevskaya in the no. 4 spot due to retirement at 5-7, 3-2.
After Wednesday, the Wildcats will wrap up the conference schedule with Iowa State (4-14, 2-9 Big 12) on April 10 and #39 Kansas (12-9, 7-4 Big 12) on April 12 at Mike Goss Tennis Stadium.
