Lindstrom’s K-State Career Comes to a Close

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Kansas State senior men's golfer Alex Lindstrom posted a round of 1-over par 72 on Wednesday to close out his Wildcat career during the final round of the 2026 NCAA Corvallis Regional at the par-71, 7,361-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club.
A native of Halmstad, Sweden and former transfer from Hutchinson Community College, Lindstrom rose three spots during the final round to finish the regional in a tie for 26th place at even-par 213.
"We are really proud of Alex," head coach Grant Robbins said. "I thought he played very solid this week. It was just the putter that kind of let him down the last couple of rounds. He had a great season, and seeing how much he has grown over the last three years has been very rewarding. He got better each year here and has been an absolute pleasure to coach. We are excited to see what all he can accomplish as he starts his professional career."
Lindstrom began his day by bookending two birdies on Nos. 2 and 5 around a pair of bogeys on Nos. 3 and 4 to finish his front 9 at even par. After bogeying No. 10, Lindstrom's final birdie as a Wildcat came on the par-4 15th before bogeying No. 17.
He finished his senior campaign with a team-leading 72.09 scoring average, which finished just outside the school's top-10 list. His 72.93 scoring average during his three seasons at K-State would have ranked seventh if he had eight more rounds to qualify.
Liberty's Michael Lugiano won the event at 12-under par 201, and he moved on to the 2026 NCAA Championship by virtue of being the top individual on a non-advancing team. No. 17 Oklahoma won the team title at 34-under par 818, and the remaining top five of No. 30 UCLA, No. 6 Arkansas, No. 43 Purdue and No. 41 San Diego advanced to the 2026 NCAA Championship, the latter of which won a playoff over Liberty.
