Four Wildcats Medal at Jamaican National Championship

Two graduating seniors and two redshirt freshmen started their summer competing in Jamaica
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Four K-State jumpers started their summer competing for their country last week at the Jamaica National Championship (June 18-21) at National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
Two graduating seniors Apalos Edwards and Jhavor Bennett, and redshirt freshmen, Jade-Ann Dawkins and Rohanna Sudlow, jumped high marks in the long and triple jump under the guidance of K-State coach Clive Pullen.
Edwards, a native of Kingston, won the gold medal in the triple jump at 16.28m (53' 5")(1.0). Only having outdoor eligibility with the Wildcats for the 2025-26 year, he earned Second Team All-America honors at the NCAA Championship with a 12th place finish at 15.99m (52' 5.5"). His best jump of the season at 16.65m (54' 7.5") landed him as the no. 4 best jump in the K-State outdoor records.
Bennett finished runner-up to Edwards in the triple jump at 15.78m (51' 9.25")(2.4). The graduate from St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, finished his collegiate career as the 2025 outdoor Big 12 Champion in the triple jump and a four-time Big 12 podium finisher. He was just shy of qualifying for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championship after finishing 13th at the NCAA West Preliminary at 15.93m (52' 3.25"). Bennett's personal best distance of 16.40m (53' 9.75") sits at no. 7 in the school all-time top-10.
Dawkins earned a silver medal in the women's triple jump at 13.67m (44' 10.25"), ahead of Shantae Foreman who won the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championship with Clemson. The native of Spanish Town, Jamaica, competed in four meets as a redshirt freshman, her best performance of the year was 13.31m (43' 8") at the Thane Baker Invitational.
Sudlow, also from Spanish Town, was the lone Wildcat to compete in the long jump, finishing with a bronze medal at 6.25m (20' 6.25")(0.9). She competed unattached in five meets during the year, her best jump was 6.51m (21' 4.25") during the DeLoss Dodds Invitational.
