Aug 20, 2026 | Baseball
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Highlighted by 15 league games at Tointon Family Stadium, K-State baseball announced its 2027 Big 12 Conference schedule Thursday afternoon.
Entering the 127th season of K-State baseball and ninth under head coach Pete Hughes, the upcoming conference schedule features five opponents that competed in the 2026 NCAA Division I Baseball Championships (Oklahoma State, Arizona State, UCF, Cincinnati, and Kansas). The Wildcats' 30-game conference slate also includes three-game series against BYU, TCU, Utah, Arizona, and Baylor.
"It's a really challenging schedule with our conference opponents, especially on the road, which is the way we want it," said Hughes. "We continually talk about becoming a national program, and this conference schedule showcases the strength of our league and truly shows that we are one of the nation's top conferences in the country.
"It will be a great challenge for our program to play Oklahoma State, Arizona State, TCU, Cincinnati, and KU on the road. It might be one of the most challenging road schedules in the Big 12, but it's certainly a challenge we look forward to."
K-State will open Big 12 play on the road with three-game series at Oklahoma State, beginning Friday, March 19, before returning home to open its conference schedule at Tointon Family Stadium against BYU (March 25-27).
Following a road series at Arizona State (April 2-4), K-State will host a series against UCF, beginning Friday, April 9.
The Wildcats will then travel to TCU (April 16-18), before returning to Manhattan for consecutive home series against Utah and Arizona. K-State will host the Utes (April 23-25), before welcoming the Wildcats from Tucson (April 30-May 2).
K-State will close the road portion of its Big 12 schedule with consecutive road series against a pair of 2026 NCAA Tournament squads, beginning at Cincinnati (May 7-9). The 2027 edition of the Dillons Sunflower Showdown is slated for May 14-16 at Kansas in Lawrence.
The Wildcats close out the 2027 regular season at Tointon Family Stadium with a three-game series against Baylor (May 20-22).
The 2027 Big 12 Baseball Championships will run Tuesday-Saturday, May 25-29 in Surprise, Arizona.
K-State finished the 2026 season with a 30-27 overall record, securing the program's fourth consecutive 30-win campaign. The streak matches the longest stretch of 30-win seasons in school history and marks the Wildcats' first such run since 1988-91.
Six letterwinners return for the 2027 season, including left-handed pitcher Adam Arther and outfielders Robby Bolin, Nick English, and Cadyn Karl. Additional returners include Cape Cod Baseball League MVP Ty Smolinski and right-handed pitcher Donte Lewis, who ranked No. 46 on D1Baseball's 2027 MLB Top 100 College Prospects list.
