Massey, Lundgren Earn Spots on Big 12 Starting Seven

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Two Wildcats were honored for their dominant performances in Week 4, as Cadence Lundgren and Addison Massey earned spots on the Big 12 Starting Seven, the league announced Tuesday.

The duo helped lead K-State to its perfect 8-0 start after earning a pair of road victories, including a four-set victory over No. 20 Creighton, a 2025 NCAA Elite Eight contender and the Big East preseason favorite. It marks the program's second time going undefeated before beginning conference play and first since 2012, as the Wildcats enter Big 12 action as the league's last remaining undefeated team.

Lundgren, a middle blocker from Bozeman, Mont., led K-State at the net with 14 blocks on the week, including a career-best 10 blocks against Creighton. The sophomore was the only Big 12 player to reach double-digit blocks on the week, averaging 1.75 blocks per set to rank third in the league while her 14 total blocks tied for second. She also put down 13 kills, including five against Creighton, and led K-State with a .440 hitting percentage, which tied ninth in the conference. Her 10-block performance marked the first double-digit blocking effort by a Wildcat since 2024 and made her one of just seven Big 12 players this season to record 10 or more blocks in a single match.

Massey became the first Wildcat this season to reach the 20-kill mark, recording a collegiate-best 20 kills against the Bluejays to go with a team-high 15 digs for her first career double-double, while adding four blocks. Over the weekend, the freshman from Las Cruces, N.M., totaled a team-leading 36 kills, 18 digs and five blocks. Massey's 4.50 kills per set tied for seventh in the Big 12 and 4.94 points per set ranked eighth. She currently ranks fourth in the league in points per set (4.93) and seventh in kills per set (4.14).

K-State will open Big 12 action at UCF (8-2) Thursday at The Venue in Orlando, Fla., with first serve slated for 5 p.m. CT, before returning to Morgan Family Arena for their Big 12 home opener on Sunday, as they host Houston (6-4)Â at 2:30 p.m.
