What stood out to you about the K-State Rowing Team?

Definitely the coaches. They made the decision so easy for me. They are so great and I love that most of them have gone through the program themselves. The coaches made all of the difference. They made me feel so welcome and they are all so kind!

What sports did you play in high school and how do you think they prepared you for rowing at this level?

I played basketball and volleyball. For me, both of these sports required a lot of mental toughness and time management. During the school basketball season it was also club volleyball season so year after year I would have 4+ hours of practices a night. It’s hard to give your 110% every minute, but now that I’m used to time commitment and have worked on my mental toughness it has hopefully prepared me!

In high school I've played volleyball, basketball, and track. In rowing, working together is key because everything must be done in unison to get the best results. Track is more of an individual sport and I've learned to push myself when I don't always have teammates to encourage me. While training for rowing I'll need to push myself in the same way.
