Tom Lemke
A three-year letterwinner for Nebraska, Lemke enters his second season with Kansas State.
In his first season as an assistant, Lemke helped K-State to a 29-26 overall record, its first winning season since the 2013 season. Lemke helped guide the Cats to victories over No. 4 South Carolina and No. 6 Texas Tech.
Lemke saw four Wildcats from the 2017 squad get selected in the last MLB Draft: Jordan Floyd (10th round, Kansas City), Jake Scudder (16th round, Washington), Parker Rigler (31st round, Chicago [AL]) and Josh Rolette (39th round, Cleveland).
Lemke was a 10th-round selection by the Texas Rangers in the 2009 MLB Draft, the highest incoming Husker pitching prospect in 20 seasons. He finished his career as a three-year letterwinner and earned Academic All-Big 12 honors in 2011-12.
In his three seasons, Lemke posted an 11-10 career record while striking out 90 batters. In 2010, he became the first Husker freshman in over a decade to start and win in the season’s opening weekend, as he fanned six in five shutout innings at Fresno State.
The Phoenix, Arizona, native is the son of Jeff and Beth Lemke and has two older sisters, Sarah and Anne. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Nebraska in 2013.
