• 2023 Freshman All-American (Phil Steele)
2025: A regular member of the playing rotation, seeing time on 390 defensive snaps over the 12-game season… Recorded 20 tackles, 2.0 sacks and a pass breakup on the season… Tied his career high with six tackles – his most as a Wildcat – at Utah, in addition to recording a half sack… Tallied a full sack against UCF… Posted three tackles against Iowa State and Arizona, the latter of which he had a half sack and a pass breakup... Earned Academic All-Big 12 honors.
2024: Played in all 13 games as a regular member of the rotation at defensive end, totaling 13 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass breakup… Posted a season-high two tackles against Oklahoma State, West Virginia and Arizona State… Had a sack that forced a fumble in the season opener against UT Martin… Also had a full TFL against Cincinnati and half sacks against Colorado and Rutgers, the latter being in the Rate Bowl… Broke up a pass against Arizona State… Played on 223 defensive snaps during the year, including a season-high 25 against Arizona State and Rutgers.
2023 AT AUSTIN PEAY STATE UNIV.: Played in 10 games with nine starts, logging 32 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, two pass breakups and blocked a kick en route to Freshman All-America honors from Phil Steele... Had a career-best six tackles at Eastern Kentucky – all solo stops – to go with a career-best 2.0 TFLs, a sack and a blocked extra point... Also recorded a sack against Central Arkansas... Carded five tackles against Chattanooga and four apiece against Tennessee, East Tennessee State and Stephen F. Austin… Saw action on 539 defensive snaps and 70 special teams plays.

PERSONAL: Travis Bates was born November 3, 2003... Son of Jonathan and Mariana Bates... Has three siblings, Jake, Coleman and Jordan... Jake and Jordan each played soccer at Central Arkansas, while Jordan finished his career as a kicker at Arkansas... Majoring in kinesiology.
