SUMMER 2023  |  PLAYED WITH DUTCH NATIONAL TEAM  |  9.0 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 1.0 BPG  
  • Spent the summer of 2023 with the Dutch National Team as the Orange Lions competed in the FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Istanbul, Turkiye, August 13-16… The Netherlands fell one point short of advancing out of Group D to the semifinals.
  • Averaged 9.0 points on 55.6 percent (10-of-18) shooting, including 50 percent (2-of-4) from 3-point range, with 6.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 26.6 minutes per game in the 3-game pool play tournament… Ranked second on the team in rebound and third in minutes while he was fifth in scoring.
  • Opened the tournament with a near double-double of 17 points and a team-high 9 rebounds in the Orange Lions’ 91-89 overtime loss to Sweden in the first game on August 13… Finished with a team-best +24 efficiency rating, as he connected on 6-of-9 from the field, including 1-of-1 from 3-point range, to go with team-bests in rebounds (9) and blocks (3) in 35 minutes of action.
  • Ended the tournament with another near double-double in a loss to Croatia on August 16, scoring 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting with a team-tying 8 rebounds in 22 minutes.
  • Was one of 4 collegians on the Dutch National Team, including West Virginia’s Jesse Edwards, Cleveland State’s Tristan Enaruna and Nebraska’s Rienk Mast.

  • Played at Mt. Zion Prep in Baltimore, leading the school to a pair of Elite Eight appearances (2019, 2020) in the National Prep School Championship.
  • Averaged 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists per game as a senior in 2019-20.

  • Son of Pierre and Ester N’Guessan… Has three siblings (Rick, Sander and Lucas).
  • Brother, Lucas, played basketball at both Oklahoma State (2016-18) and East Tennessee State (2018-20)… Currently plays professionally in Spain.
  • Held a number of high-major offers out of high school before choosing Virginia Tech over St. Joseph’s, VCU and Washington State.
