  • Played multiple years on the hardwood at the varsity level… Helped MHS to an 18-5 record and a trip to the 2017 Class 6A State Tournament as the No. 2 seed… The Indians won both the Centennial League and Sub-State Championships.
  • Averaged 8.3 points and 4.6 assists as a senior in 2017-18… Was forced to play point guard because of the lack of experience at the position… Posted the ninth-best single-season assists average in program history, while he was second in scoring.
  • Named to the All-Centennial Team as an honorable mention selection.
  • Was a key piece in Manhattan’s historic 2017 soccer season, which produced an 18-2-1 record and a third-place finish in Class 6A… The team also won the sub-state and regional titles… Earned First Team All-State honors after finishing second in goals (13) and third in assists (8).

  • Nate Awbrey was born June 7, 2000, in Overland Park, Kan. … Son of Rick and Teri Awbrey… Parents are both University of Kansas alumni… Has two siblings, including a brother, Gabe, and sister, Gillian… Also has a sister-in-law, Regan Awbrey.
  • Comes from an athletic family… Mom, Teri, played basketball at Fort Hays State, while brother, Gabe, played alongside Nate at MCC in both soccer and basketball… Grandfather, Harry Walker, and uncle, Ricker Walker, competed in cross country and track and field at Fort Hays State… Cousin, Shawn Rhodes, played basketball at K-State, scoring nearly 1,000 points from 1995-99.
  • Brother, Gabe, is currently a men’s basketball graduate assistant at Baylor.
  • Grew up playing in the Spradling Skills Academy, where he played for former Wildcat Will Spradling (2010-14).
  • Earned a bachelor's degree in Bible and Christian Ministry with an emphasis in Youth Ministry from Manhattan Christian College in May 2022… Working towards a master’s degree in community development.
