Career
As A Junior (2014-15)
• A transfer from Northwest Florida State Junior College (2013-14), Stephen Hurt spent two seasons at Kansas State (2014-16), playing in 62 of 65 games with 29 starts.
• Hurt started his college career at Lipscomb (2011-13), where he was redshirted as a freshman (due to an injury) in 2011-12 before playing in 29 games as a redshirt freshman in 2012-13… He was named the 2012-12 Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year.
• Hurt scored 334 points (5.4 ppg.) in his K-State career on 42.3 percent shooting, including 30 percent from 3-point range, with 227 rebounds (3.7 rpg.), 34 assists (0.5 apg.), 23 steals (0.4 spg.) and 19 blocks (0.3 bpg.) in 1,020 minutes (16.5 mpg.).
• Hurt showed growth from his junior to senior seasons, increasing his scoring (4.2 to 6.4 ppg.) and rebounding averages (2.8 to 4.4 rpg.), while upping his minutes from 13.4 to 19.2 per game.
• In all, Hurt scored more nearly 700 points (678) in his Division I college career (92 games/51 starts) on 47 percent shooting to go with 462 rebounds, 63 assists and 35 blocks.
As A Senior (2015-16)
• Saw action in all 33 games with 24 starts… Registered double-digit minutes in 32 of 33 games played, including a season-high 28 minutes twice, at Texas A&M (12/12/15) and at Kansas (2/3/16).
• Averaged 6.4 points on 40.7 percent shooting (74-of-182), including 30.2 percent (16-of-53) from 3-point range, with 4.4 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per game… Connected on 74.6 percent (47-of-63) from the free throw line.
• Scored in double figures 9 times, including a season-high 15 points against South Dakota (11/20/15)… He scored a Big 12 high of 14 points at Kansas (2/3/16).
• Registered 2 double-doubles (points/rebounds) in his senior season, including 10 points and 10 rebounds vs. South Carolina State (11/29/15) and 14 points and 11 rebounds at Kansas (2/3/16)… He also pulled down a season-tying 11 rebounds vs. TCU (3/2/16) on Senior Night.
• Saw action in all 18 Big 12 games with 11 starts… Averaged 5.6 points on 41.4 percent shooting (36-of-87) with 4.2 rebounds in 17.8 minutes per game… Connected on 75 percent shooting (21-of-28) from the free throw line in league-only games.
• Saw action in 29 games with 5 starts… Registered double-digit minutes in 22 of 29 games played, including a season-high 27 minutes at Texas (3/7/15).
• Averaged 4.2 points on 45.1 percent shooting (46-of-102), including 28.6 percent (4-of-14) from 3-point range, with 2.8 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per game… Connected on 69.2 percent (27-of-39) from the free throw line.
• Averaged 6.1 points on 55.1 percent shooting (27-of-49) with 3.5 rebounds per game in the team’s wins compared to 2.9 points on 35.8 percent shooting (19-of-53) with 2.3 rebounds per game in the losses.
• Scored in double figures 3 times, including a season-high and team-high 15 points in the win at No. 16/18 Oklahoma (1/10/15) on 6-of-10 field goals… Also scored 11 points in wins vs. Southern Utah (11/14/14) and Purdue (11/24/14).
• Paced the team in rebounding twice with a season-high 8 at Long Beach State (11/21/14) and No. 16/18 Oklahoma (1/10/15).
• Saw action in all 18 Big 12 games with a start at Texas (3/7/15)… Averaged 3.7 points on 40.4 percent shooting (23-of-57) with 2.2 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per game… Connected on 70.8 percent shooting (17-of-24) from the free throw line in league-only games.
Community College
• Played one season at Northwest Florida State Junior College in Niceville, Fla., during the 2013-14 season… The school finished the season with a 22-6 overall record and a No. 21 ranking in the NJCAA Top 25 poll… One of four players to sign with Division I teams.
• Named honorable mention All-Panhandle Conference… Selected as the Florida Junior College Player of the Week on Dec. 3 after averaging 21.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in splitting games with Volunteer State (11/29/13) and No. 2 Indian Hills (11/30/13).
• Saw action in 26 of 28 games with 24 starts despite his minutes being hampered by a multitude of injuries… Battled through hamstring and back injuries as well as a tear to the iris of his right eye which caused him to miss two of his team’s last five games.
• Averaged 8.2 points on 51.5 percent shooting (70-of-136) from the field, including 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from 3-point range, with 4.8 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.5 blocks and 0.3 steals in 15.0 minutes per game… Connected on 80.2 percent (65-of-81) from the free throw line.
• Collected three double-doubles… Scored in double figures in seven games and grabbed double-digit rebounds three times… Led the team in scoring twice and in rebounding on eight occasions… Scored a season-high 29 points in an 89-88 loss eventual NJCAA national runner-up Indian Hills Community College (11/30/13) in 35 minutes of action… Went 8-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-4 from 3-point range, to go with a 9-of-9 effort from the free throw line… Also collected a season-high 11 rebounds vs. Indian Hills (11/30/13)… Grabbed 10 rebounds vs. Volunteer State (11/29/13) and Central Georgia Tech (12/30/13).

At Lipscomb
• Spent two seasons at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., where he was redshirted as a true freshman in 2011-12 before playing in 29 games as a redshirt freshman in 2012-13… Helped the Bisons to a 12-18 record in 2012-13 with a 7-11 mark in conference play.
• Named the 2012-13 Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year, becoming the first Lipscomb player to earn the honor… Also selected to the league’s All-Freshman Team… Four times he was named the league’s Rookie of the Week… Selected as the A-Sun “Crons Achiever of the Month” for December as the top performer in the Atlantic Sun as voted on by the fans.
• Rated as the No. 2 scoring and rebounding freshman center in the nation.
• Saw action in 29 of 30 games with 21 starts as redshirt freshman in 2012-13… Averaged 11.5 points on a team-best 53.5 percent shooting (130-of-243) from the field with 7.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 24.3 minutes per game… Connected on 68.6 percent (83-of-121) from the free throw line… Ranked first on the team in field goal percentage, rebounding and double-doubles, while was second in scoring and field goals.
• Scored in double figures in 18 games, including one 30-point game and three other contests of 20 or more points… Scored a season-high 30 points at Jacksonville (1/2/13) on 9-of-13 shooting with 11 rebounds… Also went a season-best 12-of-13 from the free throw line vs. the Dolphins.
• Notched eight double-doubles… Named ESPN.com’s “Top Performer” after a 23-point, 18-rebound effort against Austin Peay (12/18/12)… Also had double-doubles in road tilts at Kentucky (12 points and 11 rebounds) and Memphis (15 points and 13 rebounds).
• Redshirt as a true freshman after tearing his MCL in his left knee during a basketball mission trip to the Dominican Republic in August 2011.

High School
• A two-year lettermen at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn. … Helped the school to a 31-3 record and an appearance in the Final Four of the Class 3A state tournament as a senior in 2010-11… The team also was champions of the district, regional and sectional.
• Averaged 17.3 points and 9 rebounds per game.

• Stephen Lane Hurt was born April 18, 1993 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. … Parents are Willette and Garland Hurt… Has a sister, Kayla.
• Also considered Indiana, Miami (Fla.), Tennessee, VCU and Wichita State.
• Earned his bachelor’s degree in social science in May 2016.
