Kacie Jones is in her third season on head coach Jeff Mittie’s staff as the director of basketball administration.

Jones is responsible for a number of administrative duties within the program including: coordinating staff and team travel and logistics, money and budget management, manage all home game logistics, on-campus recruiting logistics, training table coordination, camp/clinic budgets, daily office operations, and direct program contact for all other KSA departments.

Prior to joining K-State women’s basketball, Jones was an assistant coach at her alma mater, Wayne State, from 2020 to 2022.

Before returning to Wayne State, Jones served as a graduate assistant coach at Northwestern College in Iowa, helping the Red Raiders women’s basketball team to a 17-11 overall record, while coaching four players to All-GPAC honors.

Jones played four seasons (2014-18) of basketball and track and field at Wayne State College. During her time as a Wildcat, Kacie scored 754 points and led the Wildcats in three-point shooting as a junior and senior. She was also a two-time NSIC All-Academic honoree, while serving as team captain for two years.

In track and field, Jones claimed the 2016 NSIC Outdoor discus title with a throw of 158’ 7” earning All-NSIC honors. Her efforts resulted in becoming a 2016 National Qualifier in the discus, where she finished 18th with a throw of 141’ 11”. Her success in the ring earned herself USTFCCCA All-Region and All-Academic honors as a senior.

A native of Sundance, Wyoming, Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Wayne State College in 2018 and a master’s degree in education from Northwestern College in 2021.
