Staci Foss is in her seventh season on head coach Jeff Mittie’s staff and her third as assistant coach. Foss served the program as the Coordinator of Recruiting Operations and Skill Development Coach for two seasons and was the Director of Video Operations in her first two seasons in the Little Apple.

In addition to her coaching duties at K-State, Foss is also responsible for recruiting evaluation, international recruiting, game plan preparation and player development.

Since her promotion to assistant coach, Foss has helped K-State to a pair of NCAA Tournaments including a trip to the second round in 2024 and the program’s first Sweet 16 appearance in 23 years in 2025.

In the summer of 2024, Foss worked with the K-State guards  on their three-point shooting. K-State’s guards would conclude the 2024-25 season with 307 three-pointers made on a .386 three-point field goal percentage, the second-most in program history for a single season. The Wildcats tallied the first season in program history with three players with 70 or more connections from long range (Temira Poindexter, 92; Taryn Sides, 84; Jaelyn Glenn, 72).

Foss aided Sides in enhancing her three-point shooting from her freshman season. Sides responded to the individual work in the 2024-25 season by making the second-most three-pointers in a sophomore season in program history (84). Sides made 58 more three-pointers from her freshman to sophomore seasons, the second-largest season-to-season improvement in program history. She ended the season by shooting .433 from distance, while senior Jaelyn Glenn shot .436, which ranked third in progra history for a single-season.

Prior to joining the Wildcats, Foss served as an assistant coach and video coordinator for two seasons at UC San Diego. During her time with the Tritons, she aided a program that went 58-5 and captured two California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) regular season titles, a CCAA Tournament crown and a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.

Before her time at UC San Diego, Foss was the head coach of The Preuss School girl’s basketball team from 2014-17. In four years, Foss tripled the team’s win total, coached five all-conference selections and served as a fundraising and travel coordinator. She was also a skills development coach for Hoop Blessings in San Diego, training semi-professional, Division I, II and III athletes through CoachUp.

Foss played professionally in Europe for two seasons, first for BC Hellenen in Munich, Germany in 2014-15 and then C.E. Diagonal Mar in Barcelona, Spain in 2016-17. She was the starting point guard for both teams and led C.E. Diagonal Mar in points per game, free throw percentage and assists per game.

Collegiately, Foss played for San Diego Mesa College where she earned All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) First Team honors in 2014 and was team captain. She received her bachelor’s degree in politics and government from Pacific University in 2010, and earned her master’s degree in sports coaching from the University of Denver in 2017.

Foss and her husband, Ryan, welcomed a baby boy in July.
