title at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate by finishing seventh…
Carded two top-20 finishes toward the end of her career, tying for 20th
at the MountainView Collegiate and 18th at Lady Buckeye Invitational…
Earned First Team Academic All-Big 12 accolades.
As a Junior (2013-14):
One of three Wildcats to compete in all 11 events... Compiled a
team-leading 75.90 stroke average, six top-20 finishes and two top-10
placings... Best finish was a tie for fifth at the BYU Entrada Classic
when she fired a 15-over par 231... Also finished in a tie for sixth at
the Sunflower Invitational with a 15-over par 231... Other top-20
finishes included: a tie for 15th at the Challenge at Onion Creek with a
15-over par 222, 17th at the Las Vegas Showdown with a 2-over par 146,
11th at the Mountain View Collegiate with a 3-over par 219... A Second
Team All-Big 12 performer who also earned a spot on the Big 12
Commissioners Honor Roll.
As a Sophomore (2012-13):
One of four Wildcats to compete in all 11 events... Compiled a 78.24
stroke average, three top-20 finishes and one top-10 placing... Best
finish was sixth at the season-opening Chip-N-Club Invitational when she
fired an 11-over par 227... Also finished in a tie for 11th at the
Susie Maxwell Classic with a 6-over par 222 and in a tie for 14th at the
Mountain View Collegiate with a 3-over par 219... Fired a season-low
18-hole score of 2-under par 70 on three occasions... Earned Academic
All-Big 12 accolades.
As a Freshman (2011-12):
Saw time in five events, putting together a 76.08 stroke average and
one top-20 finish when she placed 12th at the Mountain View Collegiate
at 1-over par 217... Her score at the Mountain View Vollegiate was aided
by a second-round score of 2-under par 70, her lowest round of the
season... Led the squad during the next tournament as she tied for 27th
at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate... Finished in a tie for 23rd at
the Big 12 Championship with a 54-hole score of 23-over par 233... Saw
9.33 of her 10 rounds in the scoring lineup count towards the team
score.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered
three years at Marcus High School... Ranked No. 3 in the Texas AJGA
Polo Rankings Class of 2011... Named first team all-region as a
sophomore... Won the district championships her junior year and named
first team all-district as a freshman, sophomore and junior... Earned
five high school tournament wins and three Texas Junior Golf Tour
wins... Also earned six second-place and six top-five finishes in her
high school career.
PERSONAL: Carly
Erica Ragains was born March 30, 1993, in Carrollton, Texas... Daughter
of Steve and Chris Ragains... Volunteers for the Special Olympics golf
program.
