Mindy Hoffman is in her 19th year overall at K-State in 2024 and sixth as the Head Football Athletic Trainer. Hoffman, who is entering her 18th season working with the football program, served as an associate athletic trainer from 2013 to 2018 before being promoted. Hoffman also collaborates with various other members of the staff as a member of K-State’s optimal performance team, which ensures football student-athletes are at their peak for both practices and games.
As of 2023, Hoffman is one of just 11 females to serve as the Head Football Athletic Trainer at an FBS school, while she teams with Kacey Harper Feldkamp to make K-State one of just two schools to have females serve as its Head Football Athletic Trainer and Director of Football Operations.
Hoffman’s career accolades include being named the 2016 Big 12 Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year, while she played a key role in the K-State Sports Medicine staff earning 2017 and 2021 Big 12 Sports Medicine Staff of the Year. In 2017, she was the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Department of Rehabilitation Science Distinguished Alumni award winner, which honors its alumni who have achieved significant professional accomplishments.
Prior to her arrival at K-State, Hoffman spent two years at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where she received her master’s degree in athletic training in May 2006. While at Tech, she worked primarily with the football team for two years and the women’s basketball team for one season. She also spent time assisting an orthopedic surgeon while working on her master’s degree.
Hoffman received her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Purdue University in May 1999. She spent four years as a teacher and coach before pursuing a career in athletic training.
Hoffman, a native of Royal Center, Indiana, is a certified athletic trainer, member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
