Clive Pullen was announced as a track and field assistant coach, overseeing the jumpers, by Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Travis Geopfert on August 2, 2024.
The 2026 season proved to be very successful for the jumps squad, featuring 3 NCAA Champions and four Big 12 Champions, leading Pullen to be named the USTFCCCA Outdoor Midwest Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year. During the outdoor conference championship his jumpers accounted for 37 of the men's team 83.33 points in a 4th place finish.
Tah Chikomba had a breakout year, particularly during the outdoor season, the NCAA Outdoor Champion in the long jump was awarded the USTFCCCA Men's National Field Athlete of the Year and Midwest Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year as well as being named to The Bowerman Watchlist. Chikomba won the NCAA outdoor title with a new school record leap of 8.37m (27' 5.5"), just the second Wildcat to win the title since 1951 and the furthest distance to win the title since 2018. At the NCAA West Preliminary he jumped 8.75m (28' 8.5"), a wind aide of 3.2, which is the NCAA #1 all-conditions all-time and #7 in the world all-conditions all-time. Chikomba also won the Big 12 outdoor title at 8.27m (27' 1.75"), the new Big 12 Conference and Drachman Stadium facility records and was the bronze medalist at the NCAA Indoor Championship at 8.15m (26' 9").
Selva Prabhu helped K-State sweep the horizontal titles at the NCAA Outdoor Championship winning the triple jump at 16.92m (55' 6.25"), also just the second Wildcat to win the event outdoors since Kenny Harrison in 1986. Prabhu also won a Big 12 outdoor title with a leap of 17.19 (56' 4.75"), wind aide of 4.6, what had the potential to break the Big 12 and K-State school record. At the NCAA Indoor Championship he was national runner-up while breaking the triple jump school record at 17.05m (55' 11.25").
During the Indoor Championship, Daniela Wamokpego won the women's triple jump with her new school record leap of 13.84m (45' 5"), leading a group of nine total Wildcats to earn First Team All-America honors, including true freshman Destini Smith in 5th place. Smith also competed in the triple jump at the Outdoor Championship where she earned a bronze medal at 13.79m (45' 3"), the no. 2 distance in the K-State outdoor records.
At the indoor Big 12 Championship, K-State swept the Big 12 long jump titles, Maud Zeffou-Poaty, a transfer from Iowa, with a jump of 6.62m (21' 8.75") and Uroy Ryan, a transfer from Arkansas, with a leap of 7.90m (25' 11").
During the 2025 NCAA outdoor championship, he coached the Wildcats’ only freshman All-American, Prabhu, to a 5th place finish in the men’s triple jump at 16.09m (52’ 9 1/2”). He also led Shalom Olotu to two Second Team All-America honors in the triple and long jump, the first K-State woman to earn multiple accolades in individual events since 2015.
Pullen spent last season at Kansas as an assistant coach working with horizontal jumpers. Prior to that, he had two stints at his alma mater Arkansas (2017-18, 2021-23) and three years at Tennessee (2018-2021) as a volunteer assistant coach working alongside Geopfert. He has assisted with six NCAA Champions and 15 First Team All-Americans.
“What an amazing opportunity to hire a former Olympian I coached. I knew at a young age that Clive Pullen was special,” Geopfert said. “It’s obvious he was talented as an athlete, but I knew his skill set exceeded far beyond his athletic prowess. Clive has a brilliant mind for all of the jumps and is a proven recruiter in a young career. I’m beyond excited to continue to collaborate with him as a coach but to also watch him develop as one of the elite jumps coaches in the country. The young man is big time in everything he does. I’m thrilled to have him on our staff.”
Pullen was a triple jump Olympian competing for Jamaica in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. He also competed at World Championships and the Commonwealth Games and was a three-time Jamaican National Champion from 2016-18.
