Ross Metheny is in his first season on head coach Jeff Mittie’s staff and serves the program in the role as General Manager.

Metheny’s responsibilities include: aiding in the navigation of NIL for the student-athletes, enhance branding opportunities, special projects and events including community service and player appearances and assist in on-campus recruiting. He is the direct liaison with K-State’s NIL staff and ensuring that each student-athlete has the ability to grow their brand to the fullest.

Metheny is a 2016 K-State alum with a graduate certificate in academic advising. While earning his graduate certificate, Metheny was a graduate assistant coach under head coach Bill Snyder during the 2015 and 2016 seasons working primarily with the defensive coaching staff.

Following his departure from K-State in the summer of 2017, Metheny was named an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia, where he worked with the safeties and defensive backs.

Prior to his time on Coach Snyder’s staff, Metheny was a quarterback at Virginia and South Alabama. While at South Alabama, Metheny earned 2013 All-Sun Belt Conference (SBC) Second Team honors, named to the 2013-14 SBC All-Leadership Team, team captain for the Jaguars, and collected 2013 Male Athlete of the Year honors from South Alabama.

Metheny graduated from Virginia in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and then earned his Master’s of Education degree in Educational Leadership from South Alabama in 2014.

In addition to his experience within collegiate athletics, Metheny has also worked in sales and business development in both Atlanta, Georgia, and Manhattan for the last eight years most recently with Learfield/K-State Sports Properties.
