Travis Brown is in his first season as the Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach at Kansas State.
Brown’s responsibilities on staff include: goalkeeper training, aiding in the team defense and recruiting.
Prior to coming to K-State, Brown served as assistant coach/goalkeeper coach at Dayton with the men’s soccer program in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He aided the squad to a 22-5-11 overall record including two appearances in the Atlantic-10 Conference title game with a win in 2024 and a third round appearance in the 2024 NCAA Men’s College Cup.
While with the Flyers, Brown mentored goalkeeper Dario Caetano to a 1.05 goals against average (GAA), a 14-3-3 record and seven shutouts in the 2024 season.
During the 2025 season, Brown helped the program back to the A-10 title game by guiding Gavin Krenecki to a 0.64 GAA, an 8-1-8 record and nine shutouts.
Before his time in Dayton, Brown was an assistant men’s soccer coach at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, during the 2022 and 2023 seasons and helped the program to a 24-9-4 record. He aided the program in reaching the NCAA Division III Tournament Round of 32 in both seasons and a Coast-to-Coast Conference finalist bid in 2022.
In addition to his collegiate coaching, Brown has also coached at the professional and youth levels. He served as the goalkeeper coach in the inaugural season inb 2024-25 for Charlottesville Blues FC (Virginia) in USL League Two and USL W.
In 2025, Brown took the head coaching reins for the Charlottesville Blues FC CCL Pro23 squad, which was a summer competition of former collegiate players and current professionals, and guided them to an undefeated mark.
In addition to his duties at Dayton, Brown served as the goalkeeper coach with Cincinnati United Premier for the boys MLS NEXT and Girls Academy and worked with Club Ohio Dayton as their college recruiting coordinator.
He also worked as the Director of Goalkeeping with Virginia Legacy Soccer Club in Williamsburg, Virginia, during the 2021 through 2023 seasons.
During this same period, Brown served as the Goalkeeping Coach and Assistant Academy Director at HR Sportsplex in Newport News.
Brown’s playing career included a two-season stretch with Lionsbridge FC in the USL 2 from 2021-23. He aided the squad to a pair of Chesapeake Division titles and a USL 2 national finalist.
Brown earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in General Studies – Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire in 2023. Brown holds a USSF D License and United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Diplomas – Level 1 & 2.
