Janee’ Kassanavoid - Women’s Track & Field
Kassanavoid, a senior from Lawson, Mo., threw a school-record 67.38m/221-00 on her third attempt in the women's hammer throw at the Jim Click Shootout on Saturday. Kassanavoid's throw held up to win the event, breaking a school record that she set by throwing 66.97m/219-08 at the Texas Invitational in 2017. She led the trio of women's hammer throwers to score 23 points for the Wildcats. It was one of five event victories for the 10th-ranked K-State women’s team at the meet. The Wildcats will travel to Austin, Texas for their next competition at the Texas Invitational on April 13-14.

Aaron Booth - Men’s Track & Field
Booth, a sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand, won the men's decathlon in his K-State debut at the Jim Click Shootout, behind 7,397 points and a series of event victories. He finished in the top three of each of the day one events, including a first-place finish in the men's long jump. After day one he was in second place, 132 points off Cincinnati’s Alex Bloom. Booth took over on day two, which included two event victories in the discus and javelin. His javelin win put him in the lead with 6,747 points through nine events. He secured it with a fifth place finish in the 1500 meters as the freshman wrapped up his decathlon debut with a victory.
Niamh McSherry - Women’s Golf
McSherry, a freshman from Lurgan, Northern Ireland, led the Wildcats at the Bruzz Challenge in Carrollton, Texas, this past week. She finished 22-over par 238 which put her tied for 45th place. She paced the Wildcats on Monday through the first two rounds of play at the par-72, 6,335-yard Maridoe Golf Club, tied for 38th at 11-over par 155. After day one, K-State was in 15th place entering Tuesday's final round at 63-over par 639. The Wildcats had the fourth-best score during the final round at 25-over par 313, jumping two spots to finish 13th. On April 20-22, they will travel to Dallas, Texas, to compete in the Big 12 Championship.
Cameron Thompson - Baseball
Thompson, a sophomore from Pasadena, Texas, batted .353 (6-for-17) this past week with a team high four RBI, three stolen bases and two runs. He had a team-high three hits in the first game against Oklahoma State on Saturday, going 3-for-5 with an RBI from a sacrifice fly. In game two on Sunday, he collected two of the Wildcats’ six hits to go along with a stolen base. The next day, in the series finale, he hit a three-run homer, his first of the season, and gave the Wildcats their first lead of the series. Thompson was 1-for-4 with two runs scored and had a team-high six hits in the series. He is batting .287 from the plate through 32 games.
Anna Turco - Tennis
Turco, a freshman from Mondovi, Italy, recorded two singles wins and a doubles victory during two losses this past week to West Virginia and Iowa State. On Friday, she outlasted West Virginia's Sofia Duran, 6-4, 6-2, and defeated Iowa State's Margarita Timakova, 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday. The freshman claimed her fourth consecutive match this season, winning eight of her first 11 matches. Turco has seen great success in straight-set matches, hoisting an 12-2 mark this season in such contests. She teamed with Maria Linares versus ISU to claim their first doubles victory together this season, 6-4.
Women’s 3v8+ boat - Rowing
Racing for the first time since the San Diego Crew Classic on March 24-25, the Wildcats put together several notable performances at the Big 12 Double Dual in Kansas City, Kan. on Saturday, despite their lack of time on the water this spring. In the morning session against Tennessee, the K-State 3v8+ boat consisting of coxswain Aimee Farrelland and rowers Abbey Hebbert, Caroline Geither, Natasha Johnson, Laura Clement, Aubrey Gilchrist, Taylor Hartman, Emma Witter and Nikole Cain fought for the first victory of the day for the Wildcats, finishing in 6:57.998 to beat the Tennessee 3v8+ boat, which finished in 7:09.515.
