Pair of Kansas State Tennis Players Named To Preseason All-Conference Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Senior Alena Jecminkova and junior Petra Sedlmajerova have been named to the Preseason Coaches All-Big 12 Conference women's tennis singles team.
Jecminkova, No. 70 in the ITA preseason tennis poll, earned all-Big 12 Conference honors at No. 1 singles and at No. 1 doubles last season. She posted a 21-12 singles record and teammed with former Wildcat Eva Novotna to compile a 16-8 doubles mark and earn the 2001 Big 12 No. 1 doubles championship title.
Sedlmajerova, ranked seventh in the ITA Central region, earned all-Big 12 Conference honors at No. 2 singles and was the league's No. 2 singles runner-up last year. She posted a 20-13 singles record and a 12-9 record with senior Kathy Chuda at No. 2 doubles.
Kansas State is 2-1 on the season and plays at Mississippi on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
