MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State sophomore reserve forward Andrea Armstrong has elected to transfer prior to the 2002-03 season head coach Deb Patterson announced Tuesday.
"Andrea is looking for an opportunity which will present more playing time for her. She has been a valued member of our program and we wish her the very best as she pursues her future opportunities in basketball and in life."
Armstrong saw limited playing time on the season. The 6-foot-3 sophomore from Lakeside, Ore., averaged 7.1 minutes of action in 20 games, including seven Big 12 Conference contests. Armstrong averaged 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game in 2001-02.
Armstrong has not decided upon her future school of choice. According to Patterson, Armstrong has expressed preliminary interest in South Florida, Xavier, Weber State and Oregon State.
