Hayden Collects Double-Double, as K-State upends Lipscomb, 92-57

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Tim Ellis had 16 points and Jeremiah Massey scored 15 to lead Kansas State past Lipscomb 92-57 Tuesday night.
Kansas State (2-0) shot 55 percent for the game and was never seriously threatened in the game.
The Wildcats shot 67.9 percent in the first half and held Lipscomb (0-2) to 34.8 percent. The Wildcats cooled off slightly in the second half, shooting 43.8 percent. But they made 14 of 19 free throws in the half to hold off Lipscomb.
After building a 46-25 lead at halftime, Kansas State started the second half making nine straight free throws to lead 57-32 with 16:07 left.
Marques Hayden had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Kansas State and Lance Harris added 13.
Chad Hartman and Cameron Robinson had 10 points each for the Bison.
Kansas State dominated inside, outrebounding Lipscomb 38-24 and outscoring the Bison 42-24 in the paint.
The game was close early until Jarrett Hart scored six straight points during a 10-2 run that put the Wildcats up 26-15 with 8:16 left. The Bison answered with a bucket before the Wildcats took control.
