KANEOHE, Hawaii - Karen Quintelier carded a final-round 76 and Christine Boucher shot a 77 but it wasn't enough to boost the Wildcats' final standing during a wind-blown third and final round of play at the par-72, 5,829-yard Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course as Kansas State turned in a combined three-round total of 933 to finish fourth at the Dr. Thompson Rainbow Tournament.
Fifth-ranked Southern California, which had three players finish among the top seven, including individual medalist Mikaela Parmlid, captured the team title with a 54-hole score of 897.
Third-ranked Arizona finished second with a score of 911, while Rollins College took third with a total of 922.
Miranda Smith, fourth after Tuesday's opening two rounds, finished up with a third-round 79 and slipped to seventh individually. Boucher and Quintelier, however, both improved their positions, climbing from 24th to 16th and 48th to 34th, respectively.
Sarah Heffel, who placed 43rd, was the only other Wildcat to finish in the top 50 among the 92-player field.
Kansas State continues its spring break tour on Saturday, March 22, when the Wildcats tee off in the first round of the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
