Wildcats 2nd in DMR at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - Kansas State earned second place behind a meet- and stadium-record performance by Stanford Friday in the women's distance medley relay final to highlight the Wildcats' day at the Drake Relays.
Shauna Burrell, Ashley Stevens, Samantha Murillo and Amy Mortimer ran 11:29.01 to beat the remainder of the field. The Cardinal won the event in 11:03.59, surpassing the old mark of 11:06.23 set by Stanford in 2001.
Two Wildcats finished fourth individually on Friday. Chaytan Hill continued her strong season in the women's triple jump with a mark of 42-10.75. Lysaira Roman-Del Valle went 2:07.76 for a fourth-place finish in the women's 800-meter final.
