EMPORIA, Kan. - Rebekah Green, Tabra Alpers and Nicole Grose of Kansas State won individual events, while Craig Smith and Marquis Clark hit regional-qualifying marks, to lead the Wildcats at the Euler State Farm Emporia State Relays on Saturday.
Green won the women's hammer, hitting a career-best for the second straight week with a throw of 180-1. Later in the meet, Alpers and Mandi Peterson finished 1-2 in the women's javelin. Alpers won the event on her final throw, with her mark of 145-2 beating Peterson by 10 inches. Green also placed third in the shot put at 46-11, with former Wildcat Austra Skujyte winning at 49-8.25.
