Chaytan Hill Places Sixth at USA Track and Field Championships

PALO ALTO, Calif.-Triple jumper Chaytan Hill completed a strong showing for Kansas State at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships when she placed sixth in the event today during the final day of competition.
On her third attempt, Hill recorded a jump of 44-09.50, good enough to earn her the distinction as the top collegiate finisher in the event. The jump, which she recorded going into a strong headwind, was the second best distance on the season. Yuliana Perez won the event with a jump of 46-08.25.
Competing in the high jump, Morgan High failed to clear the bar on all three attempts at 5-10.50 and did not place in the championships. Amy Acuff of Asics, the defending national champion, won the event with a jump of 6-04.50.
In the javelin throw at the junior championships, redshirt freshman Ashleigh Rogers had an impressive showing when her toss of 141-05 landed her a ninth place finish. Texas A& M freshman Rachel Walker won the event with a toss of 158-11.
This was the last day of competition at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and ends the Wildcats season. Six of the seven athletes representing K-State at the meet recorded top ten finishes.
