“The weather has been an issue,” said Meghan Cunningham, assistant coach. “However, we’re confident that the team will ride as well as we have in the past.”
Kansas State has a substantial lead in it’s seven-team region and hopes to maintain it as the Wildcats head to Chicago to compete.
The team looks to Dehlia Burdan and Allison Woodworth who are leading the race for high-point rider in their region.
“Dehlia and Allison are always very strong riders and we will rely on their leadership this weekend,” Cunningham said.
The Northwestern show is set to begin Saturday with the Intermediate I competition and will continue on Sunday, both shows starting at 9 a.m.
“We’re looking forward to new horses,” Cunningham said. “We’ve never riden at Northwestern before and it should be an exciting show for our team.”
