Wildcat track & field team continues to produce at Jim Click Shootout

In an event the was supposed to be team-scored, K-State athletes garnered 25 top-5 finishes, including six event wins, and notched a total of eight NCAA Regional qualifying marks at Arizona's Roy P. Drachman Stadium.
The Wildcat women supplied the balance of the heroics, led by the 4x100-meter relay team of LaToya Banks, Shunte' Thomas, Monique Coleman and Lisi Maurer, which clocked a regional qualifying time of 45.49 to win the event with the seventh-fastest time in school history.
Breanna Eveland also posted one of the top marks in school history with her clearance of 13-01.75 in the pole vault. A career-best height for the sophomore, it is the second best vault ever by a Wildcat woman and is her second NCAA regional qualifying height already this season.
Morgan High registered her second straight high jump win and second consecutive regional qualifying mark with a clearance of 5-10.75. JaNelle Wright finished second in the event and also recorded her second regional qualifying mark with a jump 5-08.75.
The Wildcat women also rolled in the horizontal jumps with Chaytan Hill taking the long jump with a leap of 19-02.00 and Queeneth Evurunobi capturing the triple jump with a bound of 40-06.25.
On the men's side, Kyle Lancaster and Joe Moore made it 2-for-2 on the outdoor season.
TJ Staab added his name to the list of Wildcats with regional qualifying marks in the shot put, posting a winning heave of 57-01.00, while Will Jones missed a qualifying time in the 100 meters by just 3/100th of a second with his fourth-place time of 10.53.
Other notable K-State performances included Erik Sproll's time of 1:52.66 in the 800 meters that was good for second place, Avantae Arrington's third-place time of 21.48 in the 200 meters and Joseph Bennett's third-place clocking of 53.66 in the 400-meter hurdles.
