MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State equestrian team, fresh off a home win over South Dakota State in a Varsity Equestrian Show, gets back to IHSA competition this weekend as 27 members of the English squad head to Chicago, Ill., for their first two Hunt shows of the season at the Northern Illinois campus.
All teams in the Wildcats’ region will be participating, including Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Iowa State, Truman State, Missouri State and Northwest Missouri State. Both Saturday and Sunday’s shows will begin at 9 a.m.
“We obviously are heading into this first English show with the intent of winning,” head coach Teresa Slough said. “But, it also is a chance to give our squad an early lead in the regional standings. We have a good mix of veterans and newcomers heading to the show, and I think they are ready to have a successful weekend.”
