K-State Women's Rowing Has 41 Make The Grade

MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State women’s rowing team recently had 41 members selected to the Big 12 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll released by the league office.
Junior Abbie Wharton (Garden City, Kan.) and freshman Maureen McKiernan (Kansas City, Kan.) were two of the 31 Wildcats overall who earned a 4.0 grade-point average during the fall 2004 semester. Wharton is a coxswain on the varsity squad majoring in architecture, while McKiernan is a novice majoring in chemistry.
Teammates Megan Beeman, Melissa Bigham, Stephanie Black, Veronica Blair, Annie Browning, Melissa Cessna, Kari Chadd, Sara Dutton, Paige Fennelly, Jennifer Flannigan, Kelsey Frasier, Heather Gerstner, Magda Hart, Linzi Hauldren, Megan Hauver, Michelle Higgins, Heather Hoffman, Alexis Johnson, Kendra Jones, Hannah Langenwalter, Sheridan Larson, Emily Neumann, Amy Noonen, Marja-Lisa Paulson, Kate Priest, Whitney Revell, Bjai Rice, Grace Riekenberg, Michlynn Rose, Morgan Steele, Alecia Stuchlik, Shannon Swafford, Amy Wagner, Anna Wagner, Talara Wait, Stacey Waldman, Kaci Williams, Joleen Wilson and Carina Winberry were also honored.
Out of the 64 members on both the varsity and novice squads combined, the rowing team had 65 percent of its members named to the academic list. The Honor Roll is recorded and released each semester to recognize student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom and have registered a 3.0 GPA or better.
