Felice Garners 19 Commitments for First Recruiting Class

First year head coach Kennedy Felice and her staff sign 19 women for next season
MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State women's rowing head coach Kennedy Felice announced on Thursday (December 11) her first recruiting class of 19 women for the 2026-27 season.
"We're excited to add each of these athletes to the team. This is a strong group of young women, who have the work ethic and competitive drive needed to have a big impact on our program once they are here in Manhattan," Felice said. "Lindsey and Halle have done a great job with recruiting. We're looking forward to seeing how this class pushes our program forward."
Recruiting women from the Midwest region, featuring five Kansas athletes, the coaches continue to look for student-athletes with a variety of sport backgrounds.
"We are excited for this incoming class and the work and development that will take place for them next year," assistant coach Halle Fee said. "We are confident that these athletes are going to be a strong addition to our team."
"Getting to know this class throughout their junior and senior years of high school has been really special to me," assistant coach Lindsey DeVreugd said. "This incoming class is athletic and competitive and they are eager to get to work. I am really excited to see what this group can do with this opportunity."
Below is a brief description of each athlete in alphabetical order:
Sarah Doble is from Gretna, Neb., where she competes in basketball and tennis at Gretna High. Doble says it will be a cool experience to compete at a high level while also getting a great education. "Being part of the team will benefit me by giving me a group of people who support each other and who all want to improve." Doble said.
Lucianna Forsythe is a volleyball player from Sedalia, Co., competing at ThunderRidge High School. "I think it will challenge me by pushing me out of my habits while also putting enough pressure on me to find new levels of success." Forsythe said. She adds that the connections she makes with the girls on the team will make her college experience that much more enjoyable.
Isabel Harris competes in basketball and is on the track team at Spring Hill High in Spring Hill, Kan. Harris says she has done sports throughout her life, "Rowing will give me a chance to still do a sport in college but still be doing something new."
Adeline Hughes is on the softball and basketball teams at Woodland Park High in Woodland Park, Co. Hughes says she wants to continue to play sports and be surrounded by a good community after high school. "[I want] to prove to myself that I am capable of being a strong and driven person on a team that has high expectations." Hughes said.
Ambi Jones is a three-sport athlete from Savannah High in Savannah, Mo. Competing in volleyball, basketball and soccer in high school, Jones decided to join K-State rowing because it will challenge her "mentally and physically in a way I have not experienced." Jones added, "I am excited to be a D1 student athlete because it shows hard work does pay off."
Corinne Kabel is a dual-sport athlete from Edison High School in Tulsa, Okla., in volleyball and swimming. "It's always fun to learn new things and to have the chance to learn a completely new sport on a completely different level is an opportunity I wasn't going to turn down." She says having a great team can make attending a new school in a new state much easier.
Aubrey Malich is a soccer player at St. James Academy in Lake Quivira, Kan. Malich says rowing will "challenge me to learn something new and stay resilient. It will benefit me to have coaches push me to become the best version of myself." She adds that she wanted an opportunity to try something new and have a community of girls to do it with.
Delaney McGrane competes in basketball and lacrosse at Westside High School in Omaha, Neb. "Rowing is a full body sport and I'm so excited to learn something new that will challenge my brain and also my body so I can stay fit and healthy," McGrane said. She also says K-State felt like home and the people "made me feel like a Wildcat already."
Meredith Merriman is from Monett, Mo., where she competes in volleyball and basketball at Monett High School. "I wanted to try something new and challenge myself to develop new skills that will benefit my athletic ability." Merriman adds that joining the team will add a community that supports her and goes with her along her K-State experience.
Avery Oder plays volleyball and basketball in Collinsville, Okla., at Collinsville High. After competing in two sports for many years she says she wanted to learn something different. "Joining the team will add to my K-State experience by providing me a community of people to lean on through college." Oder said.
Julianne Ridder hails from West Point, Neb., where she attends Guardian Angels Central Catholic competing on the volleyball and basketball teams. "K-State Rowing will challenge me next year to become the best version of myself for the team," Ridder said. "It will challenge me mentally and physically to be better and to grow as an athlete and a person."
Faith Rogers is a basketball player from Glenpool High in Glenpool, Okla. "I have always wanted to do something bigger than myself and be a part of a team after high school." Rogers said. She also states that joining the team "will teach me so much about myself that I couldn't learn through anything else."
Maryn Russell is from Olathe, Kan., where she competes in volleyball, track and field and powerlifting at Olathe West High School. Russell says rowing will "benefit me through teaching me how to handle hard things while appreciating what they are teaching me." She added that she wanted to continue pursuing a high level sport and was open to the idea of a sport she's never done before.
Courtney Ryan has previous rowing experience at Xavier College Prepatory in Phoenix, Ariz., wanting to take her rowing career to the next level. Ryan adds that she is excited to become a D1 student-athlete because "I will be competing at a higher level against some of the best athletes in the country."
Emerson Sapergia, from Chandler, Ariz., plays volleyball at Hamilton High School. "K-State Rowing will challenge me by pushing me to develop strength, endurance and mental toughness." Sapergia says rowing will also teach her valuable lessons about teamwork, discipline and time management while giving her a sense of belonging and connection to the K-State community.
Elsie Slaven is on the volleyball, basketball and track teams at Shawnee Mission South in Shawnee Mission, Kan. "Joining the team will add to my K-State experience by letting me experience the attributes of a family. It gives me a community to be a part of." Slaven says she will receive the best tools to help her be successful in both athletics and academics.
Sophie Tomlinson is from Junction City, Kan., a short drive from campus, where she competes in volleyball at Junction City High. "Joining the team will make my experience at K-State so much more meaningful and exciting because I'll have built-in, like-minded friends." Tomlinson said. She adds that the team will be a "really cool experience at a Big 12 school, especially with all the great resources the school has."
Elli Wemmerus hails from Windsor, Co., where she plays volleyball at Windsor High School. She says she joined the team "because I loved the people involved in the program as well as the chance for new opportunities." She adds that becoming a D1 student-athlete is exciting because of all the academic and athletic experiences and benefits that come with it.
Aidyn Wilcoxson is a three-sport athlete in softball, basketball and soccer, at Marshall High in Marshall, Mo. "The program's culture was also a big reason for my decision," Wilcoxson said. "Even just watching for one day, I could tell the girls wanted to be there and worked hard, pushing each other to become better." Competing in a sport she's never experienced, she added she will "get comfortable with being uncomfortable so I can grow to be the best athlete I can be."
