K-State Rowing Collects 28 Academic All-Big 12 Honors

All five seniors were named to the list while seven Wildcats had a 4.00 GPA
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State women's rowing team had 28 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team, including six on the Rookie Team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday (June 30).
All five graduating seniors were named to the team while seven Wildcats did so earning a 4.00 GPA, Sylvia Cunningham, Grace Hall, Lorelei Harris, Annika Janss, Leah Roane, Izzy Ross and freshman Gabbie Forsythe.
In the last four seasons the rowing team has had 111 honorees named Academic All-Big 12, these 28 the first under head coach Kennedy Felice. On June 16, four women, Hall, Harris, Roane and Ross were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team.
With the other five women's rowing programs in the Big 12, UCF, Kansas, West Virginia, Old Dominion and Tulsa, a total of 186 student-athletes were named to the All-Big 12 and Rookie Teams. UCF led the sport with a total of 43 honorees, followed closely by West Virginia with 42.
To qualify for Spring Academic honors, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher, either cumulative or over the two previous semesters, and must have participated in 20% of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen are not eligible, while transfers in their first year of academic residence are eligible. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
